Sirimanda Jātaka
The Story of Sirimanda
as told by Eric Van Horn
originally translated by H.T. Francis and R.A. Neil, Cambridge University
originally edited by Professor Edward Byles Cowell, Cambridge University
This is another “story” that isn’t really anything but a placeholder. Do you think that the first redactors of the Jātaka tales were mandated to create 547 stories?
On a more serious note, the name “Sirimanda” apparently is the same as “Sirivaḍḍhaka” in Jātaka 546.
“Of wisdom full.” This Problem of Sirimanda will be given at large in the Mahā-Ummagga (Jātaka 546).
